Native Workplace is announcing the launch of our Green Trades Training Program.
Basically, this program was designed as a response to the feedback we get from Indian country. We receive e-mails from tribal members seeking information on
jobs and training. We receive e-mails from and WIA, 477 and TERO directors looking for jobs and training for their clients, plus many program managers ask for help
with the information requested by Recovery Act grants for funding. So, we have chosen our initial trainings based upon what our community is facing right now.
Where the best jobs are, where the best ones will be coming up. This is early workforce OJT type training which will start you in a green career and can be applied to
a job or a small business. Some are certifications some are not. Some jobs do not require certification. These are third party trainings that we will be organizing
and managing. We have selected our partners carefully.

focus is on energy & water efficiency and
renewable power generation & storage.
Learning opportunities include introductory
workshops, basic workforce training and
advanced workforce training. Education

Energy Efficiency: Sunpower Inc, a
non-profit operating in Colorado since 1979,
provides low-income families with energy
efficiency audits and weatherization
retrofits. Training can be held at their facility
in Denver, however, Sunpower has provided
onsite training in the past with Shoshone
Bannock, Santee Sioux, and Wind River.

with KVAR Corp. are the inventors, the
scientists, and manufacturers that
developed the KEC energy controller
capacitors. We have already trained
Native applicants through their program.
They can organize classes anywhere
domestically and internationally. KVAR
Factory Certification training is eligible
for funding under the A.A.R.A.. The unit
itself is designated an energy efficiency
upgrade.
