The Cable Installer 1

Telecommunications technicians install, set up, test and repair telecommunications and data
communications systems. These systems include:

Fixed-line and mobile telephony and fax networks,  Copper wire and fibre-optic cabling, Analogue and digital satellite
systems, Wireless radio networks, providing internet and Email access via PCs laptops and mobile phones.

Technicians' jobs vary in size and scale from setting up complex communications networks within a large organisation to the
installation of a home satellite system.
The Firestopping Technician 1

Firestopping Certification is part of the BICSI Cable InstallationProgram
Performs the following tasks:

·        Understanding codes, standards and regulations
·        Assist in documentation of potential firestoppong remediation sites
·        Performing firestopping preparation and setup
·        Installing firestopping materials, appliances, and systems
·        Assisting in identifying and documenting abandoned cable
·        Removing abandoned cable
·        Assisting in the proper disposal and recycling of abandoned cable.
